London Fashion Week SS14 Part2

You still there? Sorry for my absence; been a tad busy of late.

So the September instalment of London Fashion Week has been and gone. To answer the burning question concerning my choice of attire, in the end I went with a tailored Reiss jacket, a Russell Brand disapproved Hugo Boss jumper and a casual black shirt from the good people of Pin Collar Shirts.

Friday the 13th itself turned out to be, for me at least, an ominous start to London Fashion Week. A couple of unexpected, but not quite blog-worthy, dramas meant I wasn’t able to attend Friday’s show as planned. ‘Pin Collar Shirts’ entry into London fashion would have to wait until the ‘House of Evolution’ show on the Sunday.

Sunday rolled around and Zeus decided to mark the opening day with the worst weather London has seen in weeks. I was certainly glad not to be a scantily clad model as the mercury dropped and the heavens opened. Still, nothing a quick pre-show sharpener wasn’t able to fix.

An early highlight was meeting charming fashion writer @CameronYorke. Anyone who advertises himself as, among other things, ‘general man about town and social butterfly’ can’t be all bad! He’s also an excellent raconteur and, as it turns out, an entertaining read.

Another highlight was meeting the friendly team of the new exciting bluetooth speaker range NudeAudio, who exhibited all week at Fashion Scout, and then displayed their range at the afterparty.  I must say (as a not-so-closet techie) what a great product and I will most certainly be buying one of their speakers.

The show itself featured ranges from the designers Josh & Nicol and Hema Kaul; an eclectic mix, displaying an interesting range of watercolours, interspersed with…actually, who am I kidding? - FashionTV does a much better job of describing it:

With the catwalk behind us, a cleansing ale was in order before the after party at Home House (@HomeHouseLondon). Soon after this my memory becomes a little hazy. I remember turning up with business consultant @JamesBurwood (who was, incidentally, proving a stellar model for Pin Collar’s formal range). At some stage James disappeared, to be replaced with presenter & model @Cony_Beare, a clock saying 3am and yet another round of tequila. Luckily I had a photo shoot scheduled for seven in the morning. This fashion game can be tiring work.

A huge thanks to Stephanie Woollams (@Steph_Woollams) and the @KatchLondon team for organizing both the show and the after party. London Men’s Collection: 108 days and counting!

By the time you read this I’ll have loved and left scorching Singapore for their hosting of this weekend’s F1 grand prix. More on that soooooon…
